Chelsea have just beaten Copenhagen in a pretty dull game at Parken.

The Blues went 2-0 up but in their classic fashion then sat deep and let the opposition back into the game. One shining light in the attack was Tyrique George, making another start and impressing once again.

He got his second assist in two games, his fourth of the season, when he latched onto a loose ball with a telescopic limp and then played it neatly back to Enzo Fernandez, who put it in the top corner with a lovely finish.

Overall, we were so delighted for Tyrique for another strong performance. Once again Enzo Maresca trusted him, and once again the winger showed up. In the second half he was shunted up front to once again accommodate Christopher Nkunku, but surely the manager will see the light soon.

The Frenchman is just not delivering when he’s on the pitch – and even worse, he doesn’t look too bothered about trying at times. Jadon Sancho is also not in his best form, and some would doubt his ceiling too.

George works hard, beats men one on one, and is picking up regular assists with paltry minutes. He deserved his start tonight and we’re glad he got it – but surely Maresca will have to give him a league start soon too? The manager recently said he’s “not ready,” but that’s not what his performances are telling us.

Just look at the success Arsenal have had when injuries forced Mikel Arteta to use his academy players – that could be us.
