Romelu Lukaku did it all by himself to send Napoli 2-0 up in their match against Cagliari, which puts them within touching distance of the Serie A title in the final round of 2024-25 fixtures.

Napoli had a one-point lead over second-placed Inter heading into the final weekend. Both teams are playing simultaneously on Friday night.

While Napoli lead the standings ahead of kick-off, there was a period of 20 minutes when Inter found themselves in top-spot after Setfan De Vrij’s 20th minute header to open the scoring in Como-Inter.

Then, 42 minutes into Napoli’s game against Cagliari, Scott McTominay sent the Maradona into a frenzy with an acrobatic scissor kick to put the Partenopei 1-0 up, sending them back to the top of the table in the process.

Napoli’s lead was doubled shortly after the restart for the second half.

Lukaku, who had been locked in a battle with Cagliari centre-back Yerry Mina all game, finally got the better of his opponent by bringing down a long ball on the half way line, before taking it past the Colombian again on his way to a well-taken finish within the area for 2-0.
