Video: Napoli players sing for Lazio’s Pedro after Scudetto favour against Inter | OneFootball

Napoli players were filmed singing along to Raffaella Carrà’s song ‘Pedro’ in the dressing room during their Scudetto celebrations on Friday night, a tribute to the Lazio forward of the same name, who helped them on their way to claiming the 2024-25 Serie A title.

Napoli are champions of Italy again for the second time in three years after a 2-0 win over Cagliari at the Stadio Maradona on Friday night. Though Inter beat Como 2-0 away from home at the same time, they were unable to overtake on the final day.

Napoli squad thank Pedro after 2024-25 Serie A title

So close was the fight for the 2024-25 Serie A championship that there was still a possibility of a play-off to settle the title heading into the final weekend.

There were plenty of twists and turns towards the end of the campaign. Inter had led by three points with six games left to play, only for Napoli to pull off a +6 point swing. Napoli’s lead was then slashed to just one point heading into the final weekend of the season.

In their penultimate match of the 2024-25 season, Napoli were held level at 0-0 by Parma, which could have cost them the lead of the Serie A table heading into the final weekend, had Inter beaten Lazio at the same time last Sunday.

However, despite leading 2-1 with a few minutes left to play, Inter eventually drew 2-2 with Lazio thanks to a brace from Spaniard Pedro.

Pedro has since become a favourite of the Napoli supporters, who held up banners and cut-out that read ‘San Pedro’ (‘Saint Peter’) before and after the team’s 2-0 win over Cagliari on Friday night.

The Napoli players were also seen singing along to Raffaella Carrà’s song ‘Pedro’ in an ode to the veteran Lazio forward in the dressing room during their title celebrations on Friday night.
