Viktor Gyokeres admits he doesn't know what the future holds amid speculation he could follow Ruben Amorim to Manchester United.
Amorim will leave Sporting CP to take up the role of United's head coach on November 11, succeeding Erik ten Hag after he was sacked for winning just four games from a possible 14 in all competitions.
Gyokeres has been linked with almost every major club in Europe after becoming one of the continent's most prolific goalscorers and he strengthened his reputation on Friday night by scoring four goals in Sporting's 5-1 win over Estrela – a win that maintained the Portuguese giants' perfect start to the 2024/25 league season.
The Swede is thought to have a close working relationship with Amorim, who gave him his big break by signing him from Championship outfit Coventry City, but he was coy on his future when asked if there's a chance he could also head to Old Trafford.
"I don't know," Gyokeres told Portuguese broadcaster Sport TV. "I'm here, and I really like being here. It's not something I think about. I'm enjoying it here.

He continued of Amorim's impending exit and the uncertainty at Sporting: "Of course, it's not a normal situation. But we won 5-1, and the team reacted very well. We are professionals, and we have to continue like this.
"We are sad to see [Amorim] leave; he is a great professional; he was fantastic for us, but we have to adapt. It's difficult to talk about the future, but we will definitely do the same job and continue to give our best. We wish him the best. It's very good for him."
United's current striking options include Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee, the latter of whom was a £34m signing from Bologna during the summer transfer window. But after failing to hit the ground running, the Dutchman has already been linked with a loan move back to Serie A – Juventus one of the clubs named as a potential suitor.
As for Gyokeres, he is already up to 20 goals for the season in all competitions. 16 of those have come in the Primeira Liga in just ten games, taking his overall tally for Sporting since his €20m arrival in July 2023 to 63 goals in 66 appearances.
