Villarreal are pushing hard to sign Inter Milan wingback Tajon Buchanan on loan.
This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri want to keep hold of the Canadian international, however.
Inter wingback Buchanan could leave on loan during the last few days of the January transfer window.
Buchanan joined Inter last January. However, he has been far from a regular in the team.
In fact, Buchanan has made just one start for Inter to date – in the Coppa Italia against Udinese last month.
Meanwhile, Buchanan was on the sidelines for several months after suffering a broken leg in training during the Copa America in the summer.
Canada national team coach Jesse Marsch has admitted that Buchanan in fact told him that he wants to join a club where he’ll get more playing time.
And there are a few clubs interested in the former Club Brugge wingback’s signature.

In Serie A the likes of Monza and Torino have identified Buchanan as a January reinforcement. Roma have also reportedly inquired about the possibility.
Then, Ajax have also reportedly come forward as candidates to sign Buchanan on loan.
However, reports Sky, it is actually a team in La Liga who are pushing the hardest to sign Buchanan.
The broadcaster report that Villarreal are ready to make a significant effort to bring the Canadian international in.
However, Inter are not particularly keen to send Buchanan out on loan, reports Sky. The Nerazzurri continue to see the Canadian international as important squad depth.
