Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has sent his reaction after Kobbie Mainoo’s injury update on Instagram last night.

Mainoo has been on the sidelines since the last international break with a muscle injury and he has yet to report for team training.

However, he is not far from making his comeback. The Red Devils graduate posted an update on Instagram with the caption: ‘Be right back’.

Several United stars responded to Mainoo’s three-word message including club captain Bruno Fernandes who wrote: ‘Waiting on you star boy’.

Mainoo has been a notable miss in the centre of the park for United, but his absence has also been a blessing in disguise for Christian Eriksen.

On paper, Mainoo and Manuel Ugarte should be assured starters in midfield for the club. The former’s absence has handed more minutes to Eriksen.

The Dane has been in a rich vein of form with four goals and three assists. He has yet to contribute in the league, but has been crucial towards every point in Europe.

United travel to the London Stadium for today’s league encounter against West Ham United and anything less than a victory could pile the pressure on the manager.

The Hammers are close to the drop zone with just eight points on the board. The Red Devils have a perfect opportunity to capitalise with a second-straight league triumph.

Erik ten Hag could make a couple of changes from the Europa League draw at Fenerbahce with Bruno Fernandes and Rasmus Hojlund replacing Victor Lindelof and Joshua Zirkzee.
