Football League World's Blackburn Rovers fan pundit outlines his side's threatening players ahead of their visit to Swansea City on Saturday
This article is part of Football League World's 'Terrace Talk' series, which provides personal opinions from our FLW Fan Pundits regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more...
Blackburn Rovers' chances of landing a Championship play-off spot seemingly took a major dent when popular boss John Eustace left Ewood Park in favour of joining relegation-threatened Derby County last week.
Eustace's Blackburn departure came amid reports that he did not feel backed by controversial club owners, The Venky's, which prompted feelings of anger among the Rovers faithful.
Somewhat surprisingly, though, the Lancashire club have won both of their last two games, including a 2-0 triumph over play-off rivals West Bromwich Albion last Wednesday.
Now that Rovers are in good form under the stewardship of caretaker boss David Lowe, Football League World asked our Blackburn fan pundit, Simon Middlehurst, which player on his club's team this weekend's opposition should be concerned about and why.
Simon told FLW: "There's probably a couple of players, actually.
"Last couple of games we've seen a bit of resurgence from some of the players.
"Tyryhs Dolan, he's looked really good these last couple of games, he looks like he's hit some form.
"Makhtar Gueye, he's really come into his own these last few games, he's really starting to get to grips with the English game.
"So (I) definitely think he's going to be one to watch out for, if he comes on or if he starts.
"(Augustus) Kargbo, very very exciting young talent, very very quick, loves to run at players, really tricky with his feet.
"There's three players there that probably teams should watch out for.
"Callum Brittain, again, always his delivery.
"I'm going to go so far as to say he's probably the best right-back in the league, in regards to his delivery crossing the ball and his assists that he's got this season."
As previously mentioned, Rovers are still firmly in the hunt for a play-off spot following Eustace's exit, and sit fifth in the Championship table with just 13 games left to play.
The Ewood Park outfit are currently looking to appoint a new manager, and the Lancashire Telegraph revealed on Monday that former Bournemouth and Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Gary O'Neil is expected to have talks with the club this week.
However, TalkSport's Alex Crook wrote on X on Tuesday night that he had been told the ex-Wolves boss would not be joining the Championship club.
Elsewhere, Alan Nixon reported that Rovers are interested in hiring Leyton Orient manager Richie Wellens, but will have to pay a compensation fee of £250k in order to do so.
Meanwhile, former Premier League cult heroes Luis Boa Morte and George Boateng are both set to be interviewed for the vacancy, according to The Sun.
For now, though, Rovers will have their eyes firmly set on Saturday afternoon's visit to Swansea with the aim of achieving three consecutive Championship victories.
And as alluded to by our Blackburn fan pundit, Simon, the Lancashire club boast an array of players who can cause damage to the struggling Swans.
