Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson has insisted that he wants to get the basics right against an aggressive and forward-minded Charlton Athletic.
The Addicks are currently in a good run of form as they have won four of their last five League One games.
They are currently sitting sixth in the league table and are looking to make a push for promotion to the Championship next season.
20th-placed Peterborough are set to travel to the Valley tonight and Ferguson admitted that his side watched the Addicks at the weekend when they beat Stevenage 2-0.
The Posh manager is well aware of Charlton’s threat and he wants to get his side the basics right.
“Charlton are in good form, particularly at home. We had them watched at the weekend”, Ferguson told the Posh’s in-house media.
“They are an aggressive side, they like to get the ball forward and we are going to have to do the basics right.
“In fact, doing the basics right, is the platform away from home and we need to do it right.
“We have to turn the away form around, we have four successive games on the road including the cup semi-final.”
Charlton will be looking to capture another win to continue their push for promotion under Nathan Jones at home tonight.
