Carlos Soler, currently on loan from Paris Saint-Germain, appears to have regained his best form at West Ham United, putting the club in a tough spot with a decision to make.

It seems Soler recognized the need for a fresh start this summer to secure regular playing time. Watching Spain clinch the UEFA Euro 2024 title may have also pushed him to get back in the national team’s sights.

Several clubs were interested in Soler during the transfer window, but West Ham managed to secure his loan move on the final day.

According to Claret and Hugh’s report from October, the deal is strictly a loan, with no obligation for West Ham to purchase. A senior official at London Stadium confirmed, “Soler is just here on loan with absolutely no obligation for us to buy.”

Given his high wages and the hefty fee PSG would demand, any deal over £1 million would need board approval, making a permanent transfer seem unlikely. However, now everything could be changing.

Will Carlos Soler stay long-term at West Ham United?

Spanish publication AS reports that the belief that the former Valencia midfielder will join West Ham on a permanent deal is growing. Initially, it was thought that the Hammers would face significant difficulty in securing Soler permanently because of his high wages.

Soler isn’t staying at PSG, leaving his long-term future uncertain. However, for now, he’s enjoying the chance to play in London and for a Premier League club. His comments last month, though, suggest he’s keen on staying with the Hammers for the long haul.

“I want to keep gaining confidence, playing matches and minutes, which is what I like and what makes me happy,” Soler told Diario AS. “Living in a city like London is also magnificent. Paris, imagine that, Valencia, I won’t even mention… But I am very happy here, honestly.”

“In the end, I came here on loan for a year to seize the opportunity. Playing in the Premier League, which may sound cliché, but it’s true, is something I’ve wanted since I was a child, and I’m enjoying it. I’m really liking it. Beyond that, I can’t tell you anything else.”

According to Fichajes, the club are already preparing for the upcoming summer transfer window, with Carlos Soler on their radar. However, they face a major hurdle.

PSG are reportedly asking for around €20 million for Soler, which is beyond Real Sociedad’s current budget. The Spanish club’s management are hoping to negotiate a lower fee, considering Soler’s limited role in PSG’s plans.
