Paris Saint-Germain will host Aston Villa on Wednesday night at Parc des Princes. This match marks the return of Marco Asensio, who joined the capital club just a few months ago.
PSG advanced to the quarterfinals after a dramatic Round of 16 encounter with Liverpool, winning in a tense penalty shootout.
Aston Villa’s path was smoother, as they comfortably secured a 6-1 aggregate win over Club Brugge. Moreover, both clubs come into the match with positive momentum.
The Parisians recently claimed their 13th league title with a 1-0 victory over Angers SCO, while Villa triumphed 2-1 over Nottingham Forest in their latest outing.

Asensio left PSG during the winter transfer window and since arriving with the Premier League club, the Spaniard has found new life under Emery. In 11 matches across all competitions, the veteran has scored eight goals and recorded one assist.
On Tuesday, Enrique spoke to the media and was asked about facing Asensio, knowing he didn’t want him to be part of his squad.
“No, it doesn’t bother me at all,” Enrique told the media (h/t Paris Fans) I’m happy that he can play. He didn’t get much playing time here, and he had this option.
“It’s good that he’s playing, and I know him better than all of you; I’ve shared a lot of moments with him. He was important here too. I know him very well, he’s a top-level player with an impressive track record.”
