The world's oldest cup competition is in full flow as the 2024/25 campaign edges closer to its conclusion.

The FA Cup opened its doors in early August as minnows across the country locked horns, starting with 221 fixtures in the extra preliminary qualifying round. Come the fifth round, just eight matches will be played as the prospect of glory creeps into view.

There has been plenty of high-octane drama already across this year's competition and it's only likely to increase as the stakes are raised. Entrants into the fifth round know they are just two matches away from a Wembley appearance and three from the showpiece event.

The draw for the fifth round will undoubtedly have supporters twitching with excitement, so here's everything you need to know before the balls are drawn.

The fifth round draw will take place on Monday 10 February prior to the clash between Doncaster Rovers and Crystal Palace on the same evening. Exeter City and Nottingham Forest will also know their opponents before their fourth round tie on Tuesday.

The draw will be staged at 19:10 GMT and broadcast live within the United Kingdom.

How to watch the FA Cup fifth round draw

The FA Cup fifth round draw will be shown on BBC One's 'The One Show', as well as the FA Cup's official social media channels - including Instagram, Facebook and X.

The draw will be hosted by presenter Kelly Sommers and former Arsenal duo Alex Scott and Theo Walcott will be responsible for drawing the balls.

When will FA Cup fifth round matches be played?

The eight FA Cup fifth round matches will be played across the weekend beginning on Saturday 1 March. There are no replays or double-legged ties, meaning all fixtures will be decided on the day.

The quarter-finals take place at the end of March before the semis in late April and the final on 17 May - staged a week before the climax of the Premier League season for the first time.
