When will Liverpool win the Premier League title?

Liverpool’s 3-2 defeat at Fulham on Sunday was a faint sign that there may still be some life left in this season’s Premier League title race.

Arsenal failed to fully capitalise on the slip, with their frustrating 1-1 draw at Everton leaving them 11 points behind the Reds at the top of the table.

However, Liverpool have gone off the boil in recent weeks, and it will be intriguing to see how they react over the next few games.

Liverpool remaining fixtures

  • West Ham United (H) – April 13
  • Leicester City (A) – April 20
  • Hotspur (H) – April 27
  • Chelsea (A) – May 4
  • Arsenal (H) – May 11
  • Brighton & Hove Albion (A) – May 18
  • Crystal Palace (H) – May 25

Arsenal remaining fixtures

  • Brentford (H) – April 12
  • Ipswich Town (A) – April 20
  • Crystal Palace (H) – April 23
  • Bournemouth (H) – May 3
  • Liverpool (A) – May 11
  • Newcastle United (H) – May 18
  • Southampton (A) – May 25

Liverpool’s clash with Arsenal could be the decider

Liverpool require another 11 points from their final seven games to guarantee they will claim their second Premier League title.

That would give them 84 points, one more than the Gunners’ maximum tally of 83 points they can garner if they win their remaining matches.

Liverpool could win the title at Leicester City on April 20 if Arsenal fail to take any points from their next two games against Brentford and Ipswich Town.

However, the Gunners are likely to take maximum points from their next four matches, which could set up a tense clash at Anfield.

Games against Tottenham (H) and Chelsea (A) are potential banana skins for Liverpool, and they could be short of collecting the 11 points they need to clinch top spot.

While Arsenal’s hopes of winning the title are remote, they will be eager to ensure the race goes to the final couple of games.

Liverpool still look nailed on to emerge victorious, but the defeat at Fulham may make things nervier than they needed to be.

Given Liverpool’s performances in recent weeks, the Gunners will regret not applying more pressure when they had the chance.
