Why 19 year old elite talent is worried about potential Chelsea move | OneFootball

When a team is struggling, it’s natural that fans like to turn to dreams of potential transfers to help them out, and that’s just what Chelsea supporters are doing now.

The Blues have 1 win in 7 in the Premier League, and a promising campaign is regressing to the mean rapidly. Their main striker isn’t scoring goals anymore, and the attacking players behind him aren’t chipping in to help out.

So it’s natural that the links are starting to other options – ignoring the fact that £350m has already been spent in recent seasons on other attackers with little return.

Given that he’s young and talented, unwanted by his current club and quite convincingly linked by some of the big dogs like Fabrizio Romano, it was predictable that Mathys Tel would be the object of many Blues fans’ desires.

But would he really help? For all his talent, he’s still very raw and unproven. We’ve spent the last 3 seasons signing raw talent, and look where it’s got us.

Fans have already moved on from Mykhailo Mudryk and Noni Madueke. Pedro Neto and Jadon Sancho are soon going the same way. What makes them think that Tel would be any different?

Tel right to question Chelsea move even if it were to happen

It makes total sense that the 19 year old doesn’t see Chelsea as a good destination for his next career move, even if he does decide to leave Bayern Munich.

There will be plenty of other top teams interested if he continues to sit on the bench in Bavaria, and many of them will have a more direct pathway to success laid out for him. Right now, Chelsea is starting to regress to the major mess it appeared to be last summer.
