The Merseysiders could go top of the table with a win at the Molineux stadium following Manchester City’s 1-1 draw with Newcastle United this afternoon.

Nunez has registered two goal contributions in six games (across all competitions) this term.

It says a great deal about our strength in depth – particularly as far as the forward line is concerned – that Slot’s outfit can shrug off temporarily losing a player of our No.9’s calibre.

The stats suggest Wolves could be in for a tough game against Liverpool

His overall numbers (a goal involvement every 103.5 minutes), it’s worth highlighting, are far from poor.

Gary O’Neil’s men sit at the bottom of the Premier League table with the second-worst goals conceded figures (14) in the English top-flight this term behind our Merseyside rivals, Everton (15).

The former Liverpool coach will no doubt be hoping to make a bold step forward at home, whilst Slot’s in-form outfit is sure to be salivating at the Wanderers’ goals conceded rate of 2.8 per game.
