England head coach Sarina Wiegman has offered a first senior international call-up to Brighton & Hove Albion’s loanee forward Michelle Agyemang.

WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official press release from The Football Association this afternoon.

The 19-year-old attacker joins up with the Lionesses as a replacement for Alessia Russo who is nursing an injury. Russo picked up a knock during England’s 5-0 UEFA Women’s Nations League victory over Belgium at Ashton Gate in Bristol on Friday night. She will return to Arsenal for a further assessment and treatment.

Brighton & Hove Albion forward Agyemang links-up with the England squad ahead of the return fixture in Leuven on Tuesday evening. The player has impressed England boss Wiegman with her performances in the Lionesses youth ranks in recent times while she has continued her development at club level with Brighton & Hove Albion during a loan spell from Arsenal.

In addition to Agyemang, England boss Wiegman has also added Tottenham Hotspur forward Jess Naz to her squad ahead of the trip to Belgium. Chloe Kelly, Lauren James and Russo have all left camp with injuries in recent days.

England’s UEFA Women’s Nations League fixture against Belgium in Leuven kicks-off at 7.30pm on Tuesday evening.
