Remarkably, the Latics have kept six consecutive clean sheets, but many supporters will feel as though their side could have produced more entertaining football during that recent run, due to the fact that Shaun Maloney's men have drawn 0-0 four times in their last six league games.

Goalkeeper Sam Tickle has played a major role in his side's impressive defensive displays of late and did well to keep his side 1-0 up during their recent 3-0 win over Peterborough United when he denied Posh's Ricky-Jade Jones in the 15th minute.

In fact, Tickle has kept more clean sheets than any other League One goalkeeper so far this season, with seven in just 10 games, while he had already caught the attention of Premier League admirers prior to this campaign's exploits.

Alan Nixon revealed last November that Everton were keen on the services of the 22-year-old, while more recently, The Athletic reported that Arsenal were exploring a deal for the Latics man in late August.

The January transfer window will witness more interest in Tickle

According to The Sun, the England Under-21 international turned down an approach for his services from the Gunners, amid concerns over his playing time.

But his performances of late have been nothing short of outstanding, so once the transfer window opens again in January, the Latics can expect to be on the receiving end of yet more transfer advances for Tickle.

In fact, as per TeamTalk, Manchester United have joined the Toffees and the Gunners in the race for the Latics starlet, and believe that he could provide suitable cover and competition for current number one Andre Onana.

Perhaps interest from the Red Devils in Tickle should not come as a surprise for Maloney and co, given the fact that the young goalkeeper excelled when Wigan clashed with the eventual FA Cup champions in round three of last season's competition.

Erik ten Hag's men ran out as 2-0 winners at the Brick Community Stadium back in January, but it was through no fault of the 22-year-old shot-stopper, who made an impressive 12 saves that night, according to FotMob.

And while Tickle continues to prevent his League One opponents from scoring on such a regular basis, while also representing the England Under-21s, transfer interest from Premier League sides will only intensify.

Latics could fetch a handsome transfer fee for Tickle

Above all, the Greater Manchester outfit will hope that their youth academy graduate will once again turn down advances for his services in January, as seen during the summer transfer window when he reportedly rejected the chance to join Arsenal.

But it is evident that Tickle is likely to depart the Brick Community Stadium soon, having attracted so many high-profile admirers over the last few months, courtesy of his performances between the sticks.

When the Latics do eventually sell their starlet amid Premier League interest, either in January or next summer, they can hope to collect a handsome transfer fee, which could even reach the eight-figure mark.

It seems certain that the Toffees, Gunners and Red Devils will continue to keep tabs on the Latics man, while he continues to shine as one of the best goalkeepers, if not the best shot-stopper in League One.
