Wigan Athletic are hoping to entice Norwich City attacking midfielder Danel Sinani to the DW Stadium before the 11pm transfer deadline, according to a report from Alan Nixon on Patreon.
The Latics want to secure a loan deal for the 51-cap Luxembourg international, who has rarely started for the Canaries this season due to the other options at the club’s disposal.
Sinani joined Norwich in 2020 from Dudelange in his home nation before immediately being loaned out to Waasland-Beveren in Belgium, and last season was spent in the Championship with Huddersfield Town, where he scored seven times and notched five assists in 47 appearances.
Finally making his long-awaited competitive Norwich debut in July 2022, Sinani has played 18 times this season for the Norfolk outfit, but just eight of those have been starts and with the arrival of Marquinhos from Arsenal at Carrow Road, he has been pushed down the pecking order further.

Wigan, despite being in the Championship relegation battle, could offer Sinani a way out and regular game-time, with Shaun Maloney’s side in the market for additions in the final third having been linked with Hibernian duo Ewan Henderson and Josh Campbell in the past 24 hours.
The Verdict
Sinani showed at Huddersfield last season that on his day he has a touch of class, and that’s exactly what Wigan need in their relegation dog-fight.
It wouldn’t exactly be ideal for the Luxembourg international to move from a promotion push to a relegation battle, but the chances are he will not feature that much for Norwich between now and the end of the season.
Game-time is far more important for his development and he could really go to Wigan and make a difference instead of sitting on the sidelines and barely taking part at Carrow Road.
Wigan may or may not be able to get a deal done for Sinani before the transfer window slams shut, but if they do he would seriously enhance their creativity in the final third.
