FT: Wolves 2-0 Aston Villa

A massive three points for Wolves in the relegation battle!

For Villa, reinforcements are needed after Watkins picked up an injury.

GOAL! Wolves 2-0 Aston Villa (Cunha)

Wolves have won it!

Aston Villa overcommit and are caught on the break by Matheus Cunha. He runs beyond the Villa defence before cutting back inside and finding the bottom corner to secure all three points!

Wolves are hanging on here. Tielemans fires the latest effort into the fans 10 rows behind the Wolves goal.

Seven minutes added on at Molineux. Enough time for plenty to change!

Into the final three minutes of action, but we are expecting quite a lot of stoppage time.

Villa are on course to continue their tragic post-Champions League record, unless someone can make themselves a hero.

Malen is the latest to try, but his effort is straight at Jose Sa.

This was VAR's justification for ruling out the goal scored by Villa.

Into the final ten minutes and Wolves still have a slender lead.

Cunha tests Martinez again, but Villa are beginning to camp around the Wolves box.

They just haven't been able to find that final pass yet.

It has been largely one way traffic so far this half, but Wolves are showing signs of life in attack!

Changes for the Old Gold too as Goncalo Guedes is replaced by Rodrigo Gomes, while Tommy Doyle comes on for Rayan Ait Nouri.

Safe to say that VAR decision has divided opinion...

Disallowed goal! Wolves 1-0 Aston Villa (Malen)

That will be controversial. Villa think that they have equalised as Malen slides home following a well-worked free kick, but it's ruled out by the referee, before VAR rules it thanks to Morgan Rogers being offside.

Was he active? It's contentious.

Wow! Four Changes from Unai Emery at half time!

Watkins comes off, alongside Andres Garcia, Jacob Ramsey and Lucas Digne.

On come Amadou Onana, Donyell Malen, Leon Bailey and Ian Maatsen.

Can they make the difference?

Ollie Watkins appears to be carrying a groin injury as he heads in at half time.

What being linked to Arsenal does to a man....

HT Wolves 1-0 Aston Villa

CHANCE!

Cunha tests Martinez again before Wolves win a corner. They are knocking on the door for a second in the final seconds of the first half.

They won't get it though!

A late tackle from Bogarde sees him booked too.

Yellows are totting up for Villa here.

CHANCE!

Another massive chance for Wolves! Guedes runs behind the Villa backline but screws hit shot wide from 18 yards out.

Will they come to regret missing these chances?

CHANCE!

Wolves should really be 2-0 up! Boubacar Kamara is really struggling at centre-back and he gets outmuscled by Matheus Cunha.

After setting himself, the Brazilian fires straight at Martinez before Guedes puts the follow up wide!

The delay to Cunha's effort could have been costly there.

Now Pablo Sarabia's turn to be shown a yellow card, allegedly for dissent to a linesman.

One of those evenings so far...

Morgan Rogers joins his captain in the book for tugging back Toti Gomes.

Villa are starting to get a little frustrated and it's showing in their play.

Petty fouls at Molineux are stopping either side getting into any sort of rhythm here.

That will suit the home side down to the ground.

John McGinn has gone into the book early here for a tackle on Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Wolves have done well since taking the lead, and aren't looking like a side battling relegation.

GOAL! Wolves 1-0 Aston Villa (Bellegarde)

Smashed into the lead! Some nice interplay from Vitor Pereira's side sees Jean-Ricner Bellegarde released, and he emphatically smashes the ball into Emiliano Martinez's near post to hand Wolves the lead on his 50th appearance!

KICK OFF: Wolves 0-0 Aston Villa

Wolves and Aston Villa have exchanged blows (largely fouls) in the opening eight minutes here, though neither goalkeeper has been tested yet.

What a win there for Liverpool with Mohamed Salah at the double. Fulham were excellent in the second half to get the better of Newcastle, whilst Southampton left it late at Ipswich. Everton were perhaps the surprise of the day, with three fantastic first half goals.

FULL TIME!

Bournemouth 0-2 Liverpool

Newcastle 1-2 Fulham

Everton 4-0 Leicester

Ipswich 1-2 Southampton

FULL TIME! Bournemouth 0-2 Liverpool

A Mohamed Salah double helps Liverpool overcome the stubborn Cherries.

GOAL! Everton 4-0 Leicester

Some gloss on the scoreline at Goodison as Ndiaye adds a fourth for Everton

FULL TIME! Newcastle 1-2 Fulham

What a win for the west London side

We've got five minutes added on at the Vitality where it looks like Liverpool are going to secure a fantastic win.

GOAL! Ipswich 1-2 Southampton

The south coast side take a late lead as Onuachu scores

Simply the best out there right now ...

The man just loves a trip to the seaside ...

Here's a better picture of that Kluivert chance ...

CHANCE!

Semenyo has been superb for Bournemouth today and the Cherries wide man has just fired an effort wide of Alisson's post. He deserves a goal.

It's a real poachers' finish from the Fulham striker, who runs towards the near post and pokes in a free kick from out side. The Cottagers have been excellent since the break.

GOAL! Newcastle 1-2 Fulham

A huge goal for Fulham who take the lead through Muniz.

Salah now goes above Frank Lampard in the Premier League all-time scorer list ...

The season of his life?

It was a brilliantly nonchalant goal from Salah, who cut in on his left and curled an effort into the top corner. How Justin Kluivert must be rueing that miss now!

GOAL! Bournemouth 0-2 Liverpool

Here's that miss ...

CHANCE!

A golden chance for Bournemouth who hit the post with a long-range effort but then see Justin Kluivert sky the rebound from six yards!

Not the point here but that Fulham kit from 03/04 is sensational ...

We're heading into the final 20 minutes at Goodison and Leicester are yet to have a shot on target. That win against Spurs last weekend is looking more and more like a blip.

It's been a quiet half goal-wise so far, with only that equaliser from Fulham. I wouldn't count against another goal coming at Bournemouth fairly soon though.

The Premier League's best full back?

GOAL! Newcastle 1-1 Fulham

Fulham have looked good since the break and they get their just desserts thanks to Raul Jimenez's neat equaliser.

The Bournemouth fans call for Mac Allister to be sent off after he connected with David Brooks but the referee ignores the protests.

It has been poor from Slot's side since the break ...

CHANCE!

Fulham go close as Raul Jimenez has an effort deflected just wide.

Villa play Wolves later and their XI is in ...

CHANCE!

It's Semenyo again who forces a brilliant save from Alisson. Bournemouth are knocking on the door here.

On repeat ...

Early chance for Fulham ...

And we're off at the Vitality and Portman Road too.

We're back underway at St James' Park!

It looks like great vibes inside the Forest dressing room today ...

That's 20 once again for Salah. And no one is surely betting against him adding to that later this afternoon ...

We're going to grab a coffee and be back for you in time for the second half.

HALF TIME. And that's it for all four games. What a first half it's been.

It's been a great day for everyone involved at Nottingham Forest ...

GOAL! Everton 3-0 Leicester

The Toffees grab a third just before the break as Beto nets his second of the afternoon. What a first half they've had.

We're into added time in all four games now ...

The conspiracy theorists are out in force over that Liverpool penalty. For what it's worth, I thought it was the correct decision ...

Here's the offside for Bournemouth ...

One of the rare bright sparks for Ipswich this season ...

OFFSIDE!

Bournemouth's equaliser is ruled out by VAR. So close for Andoni Iraloa's side.

VAR are just checking things but Bournemouth have equalised against Liverpool.

GOAL! Newcastle 1-0 Fulham

Murphy sweeps home after good work from Gordon down the left to give the Magpies a deserved lead.

The defender for that Liam Delap goal by the way, is horrendous. God knows what Southampton are doing there.

That's also 177 Premier League goals for Salah ...

GOAL! Ipswich 1-1 Southampton

Liam Delap is the hero again for Ipswich as the former Man City man bags an equaliser for the Tractor Boys.

Salah was already a Premier League great, but he really is amongst the best here ...

GOAL! Bournemouth 0-1 Liverpool

Mo Salah nets from the spot to hand the Reds a lead at the Vitality Stadium.

Meanwhile a big chance for Newcastle ...

After a VAR check for offside, the penalty has been confirmed! Liverpool have a big chance to take the lead here.

It's a very silly challenge from the Bournemouth man. There's no intention to it, but he really should be doing better than tripping the Netherlands international there.

PENALTY!

Gakpo goes down under a challenge from Cook and the referee points to the spot!

CHANCE!

Szoboszlai forces Kepa into a save with Liverpool turning up the heat now.

GOAL! Ipswich 0-1 Southampton

Saints take the lead as Joe Aribo volleys in from the edge of the area

There seems to be a new piece of history every two seconds about this Doucoure goal ...

CHANCE!

Bournemouth hit the post as Semenyo cuts in from the left and fires an effort back off the upright. The Vitality is buzzing!

CHANCE!

Gakpo has Liverpool's first real effort on goal but it's saved well by Kepa.

There's been a bit of nip and tuck at St James' Park with neither side testing the opposition goalkeeper so far.

Bournemouth are going toe-to-toe with Liverpool here and, so far, have been the Reds equal.

The quickest goal ever scored by a home team in the Premier League!

And that's confirmed from Opta ...

Thank god we've got Everton to cover us because there hasn't been an awful lot happening elsewhere here.

Sky Sports have just confirmed that Everton's first was their first ever in the Premier League. Talk about a New Manager Bounce!

The Toffees are flying ...

GOAL! Everton 2-0 Leicester

What a start this is for Everton. David Moyes' side have got their second after only six minutes through Beto!

Everton's goal there literally came from kick off as Doucoure pounced on a second ball, drove into the area and netted.

GOAL! Everton 1-0 Leicester

It's the home side who lead inside the opening minutes as Doucoure finds the back of the net. What a start!

CHANCE!

Bournemouth have a shot inside 10 seconds as Semenyo charges at the Liverpool goal and forces Alisson into a save.

And we're underway!

The teams are coming out in the latest kick offs ... we'll be starting any minute now.

It's all going off at the Vitality ...

The Liverpool players are getting ready ...

Surely this is the win that can convince everyone that Nottingham Forest are ready for the Champions League next season?

We've now got four more games to look forward to with the highlight coming from the Vitality Stadium ...

Elanga was our Man of the Match today. The former Manchester United man was sensational from minute one ...

Here's the updated table after that Forest win ...

Article image:⏪ Wolves beat Aston Villa, Forest hit seven plus Liverpool and Everton win

It's been a record-breaking day all around at the City Ground ...

Well that was remarkable. Forest secured the biggest win of the season so far by hammering Brighton in a game where they could have scored 10 or more. What a way to bounce back from last week's defeat to Bournemouth.

FULL TIME! Nottingham Forest 7-0 Brighton

Is this the best team performance of the season so far? We can't think of many better.

Forest have been brilliant today, it has to be said ...

"We want eight" chant the Forest fans!

GOAL! Nottingham Forest 7-0 Brighton

This is getting ridiculous now. Forest get a seventh as Jota Silva pounces on a goalkeeping error and sweeps home.

GOAL! Nottingham Forest 6-0 Brighton

It's officially a rout. Neco Williams reacts first to a loose ball and fired into the top corner from six yards.

CHANCE!

Brighton almost score a screamer of a free kick but O'Riley's effort is tipped around the post.

Forest may be flying but what now for Brighton? Is it too early to say that Fabian Hurzeler's side has been a bit of a disappointment so far this season?

With 10 minutes to go, Chris Wood leaves to a standing ovation. The big man has been superb today.

You know it's good when you're invoking one of the Cloughs at Forest ...

Wood may have scored a hat-trick but it's been Elanga who has really starred today if you ask us ...

We asked earlier how Forest were going to bounce back after last weekend's defeat Bournemouth - well we've got our answer. It's been brilliant from Nuno's men today.

And that's 17 for the season now for Chris Wood. He's within two of Mohamed Salah ...

GOAL! Nottingham Forest 5-0 Brighton

And it's a hat-trick for Wood as the New Zealand striker nets from the spot.

PENALTY!

Forest have the chance to get a fifth here after Laptey's rugby tackle on Gibbs-White from a corner. It is the start of the Six Nations this weekend, I suppose.

Elanga really has been exceptional this afternoon ...

GOAL! Nottingham Forest 4-0 Brighton

Wood gets his second of the game, tapping in after brilliant work by Elanga down the right-hand side. If the game wasn't over before, it definitely is now.

I've got to say, Brighton have been excellent since the break with that triple sub really working. O'Riley and Adringa have finally added some stability to their midfield after the gaping hole in the first half.

Some more team news from the later games as Newcastle face Fulham ...

It was Milenkovic who came through the back of Welbeck but it looks as if the Forest defender has got away with one there.

Brighton have a huge shout for a penalty as Welbeck goes down in the area holding his head. The referee waves away their protests though!

TEAM NEWS!

Liverpool have named their XI for this afternoon's fascinating clash at Bournemouth ...

Article image:⏪ Wolves beat Aston Villa, Forest hit seven plus Liverpool and Everton win

Brighton are looking much better in the second half with the Seagulls already having two efforts on goal in a few minutes.

Some thoughts from the Sky Sports lads ...

Joao Pedro has been subbed at half time, ending his run of goals and assists ...

We're back underway for the second half!

And that's the break folks. It's been an astonishing opening 45 minutes for Forest, who have scored three goals and honestly could have had six. As well as Nuno's side have played though, Brighton have been appalling and will need to drastically improve in the second half.

HALF TIME! Nottingham Forest 3-0 Brighton

It's a season to remember for Chris Wood - and we still have three months to go ...

Brighton really are wide open here ...

A stat to prove just how well Elanga has been playing today (and this season, in fact) ...

In case you missed it, here's the onside call for Wood's header ...

CHANCE!

Brighton almost pull one back but Welbeck's effort smashes back off the bar, hits the goalline and comes out.

We should have known a goal was coming from Wood, he loves scoring against Brighton ...

GOAL IS GIVEN!

Wood is miles onside and Forest go 3-0 up here. Brighton look shell-shocked.

Hang on a moment, this goal could be chalked off here for offside. It looks very tight.

GOAL! Nottingham Forest 3-0 Brighton

Chris Wood gets in on the act with an easy header at the back post. Forest have been exceptional so far - but what on earth are Brighton doing?

CHANCE!

Wood tries his luck this time but the striker sees his effort tipped over the bar by Verbruggen.

CHANCE!

Forest could well have added a third just before the half hour mark with Neco Williams' low effort going just wide. This could be a bloodbath if Brighton aren't careful.

GOAL! Nottingham Forest 2-0 Brighton

The creator turns goalscorer as Gibss-White heads in Forest's second. Those Tricky Trees are flying!

Poor Lewis Dunk ...

CHANCE!

Forest go close to adding a second with Elanga cutting in from the left. The Sweden international though, sees his effort go just wide of the far post. He's been excellent so far.

This season's fast starters strike again ...

An incredible stat here from the good folks over at Squawka ...

GOAL! Nottingham Forest 1-0 Brighton

An early lead for the hosts as Morgan Gibbs-White crosses in for Chris Wood, but Lewis Dunk gets ahead of the New Zealand striker and poked the ball into his own net!

Away from this game, a huge story from the Athletic has just broken ...

Not a huge amount of action in either box so far, but Anthony Elanga has looked lively for Forest - bursting forward a few times in the early exchanges.

And we're underway!

The teams are out at the City Ground! Only a few minutes left now before kick off.

Here's Nuno and Brighton's Lewis Dunk ahead of the game ...

Whilst we wait for kick off, I would urge everyone here to check out this genuinely insane transfer story from earlier today.

How will Forest bounce back after their humbling at Bournemouth last weekend? Nuno's side could do with a win here otherwise both Newcastle and Manchester City could go level on points with their own victories. This should be a fascinating one.

Brighton meanwhile have Karou Mitoma in the XI, less than 24 hours after he was the subject of a €95m offer from Al Nassr ...

TEAM NEWS!

Morgan Gibbs-White captains Forest this afternoon on his 100th game for the club ...

Good afternoon everyone and welcome to Saturday's Premier League live blog! We've got six games for you today with the first coming from the City Ground as Nottingham Forest host Brighton.
