Cameron Carter-Vickers is the leader at the back for Celtic and their first-choice centre-back. That has been the case for quite some time as well as he closes in on his fourth straight league title since joining the club in the summer of 2021, initially on loan from Tottenham Hotspur, which was later made permanent.

Throughout this period of time, Carter-Vickers has remained a regular starter for Celtic. Of course, he has spent quite a few spells out injured as well.

He is still just 27 years of age and only entering his prime. Will we get to see that at Parkhead though? As reported by Football Insider, Celtic are concerned that they will lose Carter-Vickers during the summer transfer window.

Carter-Vickers leaving would come as a major blow for Celtic. But after spending four years in Glasgow and winning everything possible with the club, multiple times over, it would not come as a surprise if the American international seeks a different challenge.

Carter-Vickers might feel like he has some unfinished business in the Premier League. He never made the grade at Tottenham Hotspur, spending several spells on loan at multiple Championship clubs before making the move to Celtic.

Thus, the idea of a return to England to play Premier League football might hold some interest to Celtic. One would imagine that there would be plenty of interest in his signature, based on his performances for the Hoops, both domestically and at the Champions League level.

Carter-Vickers is someone who could be a future Celtic captain if he decides to stay at the club. Of course, quite a few have found out in recent years that the grass is not always greener away from Parkhead. Just look at how things have turned out for Kyogo and Matt O'Riley this season.
