The suspension concerns of Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid were added to by another pair of players over the weekend.

This came owing to developments in the club’s meeting with Sevilla.

Atlético marked their return to action on Sunday, making the trip to Andalusia for a La Liga meeting with Sevilla.

When all was said and done, the Rojiblancos emerged on the right side of a 2-1 result, owing to a last-gasp strike on the part of Pablo Barrios.

As alluded to above, though, en route to as much, Atléti also saw another two players added to the disciplinary tightrope.

Owing to their respective fourth yellow cards of the La Liga campaign, both Alexander Sørloth and Giuliano Simeone are now just a solitary booking away from a one-game ban.

They add to the pre-existing group of Reinildo Mandava, Koke Resurrección, and Julian Álvarez.

Should any of these five be shown another yellow card over the next seven gameweeks, they will therefore be forced to sit out for a solitary fixture.
