Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez has been dealing with a nagging muscle problem in recent weeks.

The Argentine had first picked up the elongation in his thigh flexors in the first leg of Inter’s Champions League semifinal tie against Barcelona.

The injury had forced Martinez off at halftime of that match.

Martinez rushed back to fitness for the second leg. This proved to be the right decision, as the Argentine scored Inter’s opening goal, and then won the penalty for their second.

However, Martinez aggravated his muscular problem with that appearance.

Therefore, the Argentine has been on the sidelines for Inter’s last three league matches of the season.

Martinez was in the Nerazzurri squad for their Serie A season-ender against Como.

However, the 27-year-old did not even start warming up to come on as a substitute.

Therefore, some worries about Martinez’s fitness have naturally emerged.

However, after the match, Inter assistant coach Massimiliano Farris assured that there were no issues.

The Gazzetta dello Sport further confirm that there is no reason for alarm despite Martinez not featuring against Como.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi’s idea was always that he wouldn’t risk that Argentine in that match unless it was necessary.

However, the Gazzetta report, Inzaghi has a clear plan for Martinez in training over the next few days.

The Inter captain has admittedly not always been at his best this season.

Right from the start of the campaign, lingering fitness issues have seen Martinez lacking some sharpness and dynamism.

But in the Champions League in particular, the Argentine has really shone. Culminating in his heroics against Bayern Munich and Barcelona.

And clearly, Martinez does not want to stop there.

Accordingly, the Gazzetta report, Martinez is fully determined to show his physical best in the Champions League final.

The Argentine gave up any chance of helping his team in the final stretch in the league. But this has been with the purpose of “a different Lautaro” being present against PSG in Munich,
