AC Milan head coach Paulo Fonseca has confirmed his plans to make use of Rafael Leão in the club’s upcoming showdown with Real Madrid.
Milan, of course, are primed to make the daunting trip to Spain’s capital on Tuesday night, for a Champions League meeting with competition holders Real.
Heading into the matchup, much of the chatter in Italy has surrounded the potential contributions of star Rossoneri winger Rafael Leão.
Portuguese international Leão has for his part been dropped to the bench for each of Milan’s last two league outings.
This comes amid the understanding that the 25-year-old’s lax attitude has not been taken to at all well by new Diavolo headmaster Paulo Fonseca.
Speaking during his pre-match press conference on Monday, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of Leão’s status for tomorrow’s Bernabéu showdown was put to Fonseca himself.
The tactician, though, did not hesitate in confirming:
“Rafael Leão will start tomorrow.”
