Alan Brazil, a boyhood Celtic supporter, brought up the Irishman’s potential connection to the two prominent English clubs during his appearance on talkSPORT on Thursday morning.
Confessing that “Celtic fans will hate me for this,” former Ipswich and Scotland striker Brazil expressed doubt that Rodgers would complete his three-year contract at Parkhead.

The speculation arises as Daniel Farke faces the prospect of being sacked, despite having only recently achieved promotion for Leeds back to the Premier League and on the brink of winning the English Championship title.
Although Ange Postecoglou’s future at Tottenham Hotspur seems uncertain, it appears his time at the club is coming to an end, regardless of whether the North London club wins the Europa League next month or not.

Brazil commented on the radio had this to say:
“Here’s one for you, right, Celtic fans will hate me for this but what about Brendan Rodgers at Leeds? Would you go with that one? Brendan is going to win the Treble, and he might think ‘I’ve done it again, do I want a move’. We are talking about the Tottenham job could come up as well. I am not 100 per cent sure that Brendan will be Celtic manager.”
The time will come when Rodgers departs Celtic for pastures new, but it won’t be this summer. The Hoops boss has already gone on record stating that he will be “150 per cent” in the dugout next season as the Scottish champions will be aiming for yet more unrivalled domestic success.

Taking another step in the Champions League and advancing to the last 16 of Europe’s elite club competition will also be on the mind of the manager. There may well be strong interest from suitors in the English Premier League, but Rodgers won’t call it a day in Glasgow just yet.
And if Dermot Desmond is minded to do so, Brendan could be offered a long term deal that will be financially lucrative and will give the Celtic manager the opportunity to build on his already impressive record as Celtic manager and to complete a legacy at the club that will be talked about for generations to come.

As for Alan Brazil, it’s click-bait stuff on the radio and he needs he the listeners to justify his seat in front of the microphone. The fact that he’s talking about a manager who has just won promotion potentially losing his job alongside another who could be on the verge of winning a European trophy tells its own story.
Brendan is a great fit for Celtic and as he gets older and wiser he’s starting to realise that Celtic is a great fit for him.
