Alejandro Garnacho says he's happy with life at Manchester United after proving himself to new head coach Ruben Amorim and pointed to the fact that he still has over three years remaining on his contract amid talk of a transfer.

Garnacho was heavily linked with a move away from United in January after being dropped from the matchday squad for December's Manchester derby over poor training levels behind the scenes, with Amorim wasting little time in calling the winger out for his standards.

While Marcus Rashford, who was also dropped at the same time, ultimately left on loan in January, Garnacho was recalled to the squad almost immediately and has since been a regular starter for Amorim.

Nevertheless, exit rumours still remain. Napoli are admirers after failing with a £40m bid in the winter window, and Chelsea are known to be keen on the Argentina international. But Garnacho is not considering a future away from United at this point.

"As a footballer, you are always going to listen and hear some rumours about the future," he told the media ahead of Thursday's Europa League semi-final second leg against Athletic Club. "But I have a contract here until 2028, so I'm happy here."

Garnacho did not hide away from the struggles he faced during the early weeks of Amorim's reign. The head coach openly questioned his fit in a 3-4-2-1 setup but later praised Garnacho's response to the pressure on his shoulders.

"My first two months, November and December, were very difficult for me but my mentality is to keep working, to keep trying and show to the manager and staff I have to play.," Garnacho reflected.

In a separate interview with TNT Sports, Garnacho added: "You can be out for that game [against Man City], but I know if I work, and I try to do the right things, I'm going to play because I know the player I am.

"I just need to do this, and I did. So I think now we are doing better things, and if we win the [Europa League], it will be very nice for us.

"When there are good moments, everyone is happy about it. When it's difficult, you have to work harder. That's what I did, what I have to do to be here and to play for this club."

It is believed that United are not actively looking to sell Garnacho but, having decided no member of the squad can be viewed as "untouchable", would entertain significant offers to part ways with the Argentina international.

A price tag of £70m was suggested in January and may well have increased now the 20-year-old has forced his way back into Amorim's thoughts.
