Bayern Munich have done significant business in the last six weeks, extending the contracts of Alphonso Davies, Jamal Musiala, and Joshua Kimmich. The Bavarian club considered this trio as a pivotal part of their long-term plans. With significant interest from clubs outside Germany, Bayern did a fine job to secure the future of these players.

Leroy Sane is expected to be next in line when it comes to contract renewal talks. The German winger has just over three months left in the current deal. Die Roten had held talks with Sane earlier in the season, but those talks have yet to materialize in a contract offer.

Bayern chiefs are reportedly hesitating to offer a new deal to Sane since his form has been patchy ever since arriving from Manchester City in 2020. The German winger is already on a significant wage, which further complicates the contract negotiations.

As we come closer to the end of the season, Sane’s future looks further away from Munich. He may have to take a pay cut to stay at Bayern. As things stand, there have been no suggestions about Sane lowering his expectations regarding the compensation package.

Arsenal holding talks with Sane’s representatives

Sane shone in the Premier League during his time at Manchester City. A return to England can become a concrete possibility for the German international. According to SportBild journalists Christian Falk and Tobi Altschaffl (via iMiaSanMia), Arsenal have held talks with Sane’s representatives over a summer transfer.

Arsenal head coach- Mikel Arteta worked with Sane during his coaching tenure at Manchester City. The North London side is looking to bolster their attack in the summer, which explains their interest in signing Sane. Arsenal were also interested in signing Joshua Kimmich, but the German midfielder signed a new deal at Bayern last week.

Sane remains keen on staying at Bayern. His priority is to keep playing for Bayern. The club chiefs will likely hold talks with the German winger after the international break. In case contract talks don’t come to a positive conclusion, Sane may have to seriously consider a return to the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Bayern are expected to sign a wide player in the summer. They are open to parting ways with Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman to make space for the new signing. Athletic Bilbao’s Nico Williams and Dortmund’s Jamie Gittens are top targets for Die Roten to strengthen the wide areas in the summer transfer window. The record Bundesliga champions are also going to put in a lot of effort to sign Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen to improve their options in the attack.
