Kamaldeen Sulemana was one of Southampton's best players last matchday. Notably, the player has bagged appreciation even from an Arsenal legend.

Southampton's recent 2-1 Premier League triumph was built on an attacking foundation. Agreed, it's rather contrasting to the conventional beliefs of defences forming a winning base but most of the players and fans will agree with the above statement.

Actually, both of the teams were coming on the back of big losing streaks and their respective backlines echoed that. Thus, it became crystal clear that the forwards will have an important say on Saturday's outcome.

Fortunately, it was Southampton who outperformed Ipswich in this regard. While the valuable contributions of Joe Aribo, Mateus Fernandes and Paul Onuachu were truly recognised, there was also a less celebrated hero among them.

That aforementioned attacker is Kamaldeen Sulemana. Up until his arrival, Southampton looked tired and in need of some fresh spark to rejuvenate them.

The Ghanaian was an evergreen presence in the Ipswich half with his advancing runs and quality counter attacks. The icing on the cake came later when Sulemana caused the goalkeeping error on the 2-1 goal capping off a perfect night for the Saints.

Understandably, Arsenal icon Martin Keown was vocal in deservedly referring Sulemana as Southampton's difference maker.

In the Match Of The Day show, Keown was quoted by the Daily Echo: "He's had lots of injuries and he's only 22 years of age. He just seemed to change the state of things at Portman Road when he came on."

Keown's applause reflects what the Saints were missing in the matches prior to the Ipswich fixture. Southampton looked clueless up front whenever Sulemana couldn't play the full ninety minutes.
