FC Barcelona were unable to play their La Liga game against Osasuna around a week ago due to the death of the first team doctor Carles Minarro. The medic passed away only a few hours before the match was set to be played, and as a result, the game was postponed at the request of the Blaugrana club.

Yesterday, the date on which this postponed game is set to be played, i.e., March 27th, was revealed by La Liga. This was not a day that either of the two teams wanted, and they both will appeal to get another date for this fixture.

For the Catalans, the main reason for their desire to get the date changed was the unavailability of two of their key players, Ronald Araujo and Raphinha, who will not have enough time to play on this date after having represented their national teams in the international break.

However, Mundo Deportivo notes that there is still a possibility for the two players to play in this game, as they will be able to leave their national team early to return to Barcelona if either of them gets a yellow card in the first of the two games they are set to play in this international break.

Raphinha currently has three yellow cards to his name, and as every two yellow cards result in a suspension in World Cup qualifiers, he will have to miss the game against Argentina if he gets booked in the previous game against Colombia.

This is also the case for Ronald Araujo, even though he has not played a World Cup qualifier since 2023, as he was unable to participate in up to six qualifiers because of the injury he suffered while playing for Uruguay in the 2024 Copa America

He is set to play against Argentina in his upcoming game, and if he receives a yellow card, he will be unable to play against Bolivia.

While this scenario is far from ideal for either player, a booking in their next match could lead to an early return to Barcelona, allowing them to be available for the game against Osasuna—provided the fixture date remains unchanged.
