Barcelona are already planning for the 2025/26 season, and one of the key areas they are looking to strengthen is the full-back position.

Hansi Flick has identified this role as a priority, as he believes the team needs a stronger presence on the right flank to enhance their overall tactical setup.

As a result, Fichajes reports that the club has narrowed down their search to three potential candidates who could reinforce the squad during the summer transfer window.

One of the names on the list is Yan Couto, a promising Brazilian right-back currently contracted to Manchester City but spending the season on loan at Borussia Dortmund.

Barcelona were interested in signing him last season, but the deal never materialised. Now, with limited playing time in Germany, Couto might be open to leaving in search of a more consistent role.

His attacking ability and potential make him an exciting prospect, but his links to City could complicate negotiations.

Another option under consideration is Vanderson, who currently plays for Monaco. The Brazilian defender is highly regarded by Barcelona’s sporting director, Deco, who sees him as a player with the attacking qualities needed to thrive in the team’s system.

However, signing him will not be straightforward. Monaco are not willing to let him leave cheaply, and Barcelona will have to be prepared to negotiate a significant transfer fee if they want to secure his services.

Lastly, a more budget-friendly alternative would be to bring back Oscar Mingueza. The former La Masia graduate has been performing well at Celta de Vigo, and Barcelona still hold 50% of his rights.

His return would be a cost-effective solution, but his defensive style of play may not align with Flick’s preferred approach. While he could add depth to the squad, he might not be the first-choice candidate for the right-back position.
