La Liga giants Barcelona are set to be afforded a timely boost on the personnel front, for their upcoming Champions League showdown with Inter Milan.

That’s according to Blaugrana insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS, who has provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Hansi Flick’s squad.

The injury news stemming from Barcelona’s ranks has of course been of an altogether discouraging nature over the last 24 hours.

This comes after the Catalans were dealt a fresh blow, upon Jules Koundé limping out of their Champions League semi-final first-leg meeting with the aforementioned Inter.

The Frenchman is expected to miss the next three weeks of action as a result.

Safe to say, then, that all of a Barca persuasion will no doubt be thrilled to hear of another of their side’s defenders closing on an imminent return to competitive duties.

As per AS:

‘Everything indicates that Alejandro Balde will be fully recovered from the hamstring injury in his left leg,’ to take back over left-back starting duties at San Siro next week.

The Spaniard could even be afforded minutes against Real Valladolid in La Liga this weekend.

Not only that, but Robert Lewandowski is also closing on an incoming return, hopeful of taking his place on the bench for next Tuesday’s return leg meeting with Inter Milan.
