The representatives of Barcelona star Ronald Araújo have moved to shut down claims of an impending move for the defender to Italy with Juventus.
The name of Uruguayan international Araújo has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the last 24 hours.
This comes after word stemming from Italy pointed towards the 25-year-old as having given the green light to a move to the aforementioned Juventus.
Specifically, La Gazzetta dello Sport claimed that Araújo was ready to make the move to Turin on loan, as part of a deal featuring an obligation to buy in the summer.
Those of a Barcelona persuasion eager to see their side’s defensive star stay put, though, need not fret.
This comes amid the assurance on the part of Diario Sport that:
‘Despite the noise that these reports have caused throughout the day, the player’s entourage is categorical: the Uruguayan has neither said ‘yes’ nor committed to Juventus.’
Araújo’s sole focus as things stand, it is reiterated, is to recover full fitness to work his way back into a regular berth in Barcelona’s backline.
