Serie A giants Milan and Inter played out a 1-1 draw in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final and Bayern Munich manager Vincent Kompany was watching from the stands.

Inter take on Bayern in the Champions League quarter-final in about a week’s time and Kompany was there to keep a close eye on the Nerazzurri, who go into the second leg of the Coppa Italia knowing that they need to win.

Marco Conterio has reported that while Kompany was keeping an eye on Inter’s performance ahead of the massive tie, he was also keeping an eye on Milan defender Malick Thiaw.

The German has increasingly become an important part of the side this season after being linked with an exit in the summer. Newcastle United were interested and Bayer Leverkusen have drawn links with him now, but it seems as if Bayern Munich are monitoring his progress and situation rather closely ahead of the summer transfer window.
