Christopher Nkunku’s future at Chelsea appears uncertain, with several top European clubs reportedly showing interest in the forward. Graeme Bailey of TBR Football suggests the 27-year-old could leave as early as January, with his representatives exploring options for a potential transfer.
Nkunku joined Chelsea from RB Leipzig in 2023 for £52 million but has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter, fueling speculation about his next move.
Journalist Ben Jacobs recently revealed that PSG have genuine interest in Nkunku, though they haven’t made a formal approach to Chelsea yet.
Meanwhile, Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sports Germany reported that Bayern Munich is eager to sign Nkunku immediately. The German side has reportedly reached a verbal agreement with the player on a long-term contract, with all terms finalized. Nkunku is also keen on the move to Bayern as soon as possible.
However, a return to Germany will have to wait.

Football Insider reported on Monday, citing sources, that Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku but are unwilling to meet the £65 million asking price set by the London club. The 27-year-old, who previously shone in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig, is keen to leave Stamford Bridge before the 3 February transfer deadline.
Chelsea are reportedly standing firm on their valuation and have no plans to let Nkunku leave for less. However, Plettenberg recently claimed that a deal in January looks unlikely due to Chelsea’s high asking price. This could see Nkunku remain with the Blues until the summer.
Plettenberg’s report also noted that Mathys Tel is expected to stay at Bayern, a situation that further complicates any potential move for Nkunku. Additionally, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported there has been no communication between the two clubs in the past 48 hours, with Nkunku’s future hinging on Tel’s availability for a switch.
