Bhoys unhappy with supporters after Sunday’s win over St Mirren
Brendan Rodgers does not want Celtic supporters to chant Kieran Tierney’s name amid links with a move away from Arsenal.
The Scotland international came through the ranks with the Glasgow giants and won four Scottish Premiership titles alongside a raft of cup trophies before leaving for the Gunners in 2019.
After a strong start, Tierney then struggled with injury and saw new signings overtake him in the pecking order under Mikel Arteta and spent last season on loan with Real Sociedad.
Out of contract this summer, Standard Sport understands the 27-year-old is in talks with Celtic over an emotional return at the end of the season.
Arsenal decided not to trigger the one-year extension option they had in Tierney’s contract, with the player likely to have left last summer anyway had he not suffered an injury while playing for Scotland at Euro 2024.

A hugely popular figure amongst the Celtic support, Rodgers was unhappy to have heard his name sung during Sunday’s 3-0 Scottish Premiership win over St Mirren.
The Bhoys boss believes it was disrespectful to current Celtic left-back Greg Taylor.
“There was a few things that I may have overheard at the end there. That’s a total lack of respect. Of course there is,” he said.
“Greg Taylor, he’s been absolutely amazing at this club. How does he feel? He nearly breaks his nose, bleeding for the club, for a cause. It’s not very respectful.
“You sing for another player, no matter what Kieran’s history is. I don’t like that. There’s lots of speculation, lots of names, but I wouldn’t add anything to it.”
Asked about Tierney’s future last week, Arsenal manager Arteta said: “All the players that are here, they want to focus on performing and impacting the team and if something happens there then we will assess it.”
