Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti has on Saturday provided an update on the wellbeing of midfielder Dani Ceballos.
This comes after the Spaniard momentarily set alarm bells sounding in Madrid earlier in the day.
During a training ground rondo at Valdebebas, as revealed by Diario AS, Ceballos was forced to limp out, before being tended to by the Real medical staff.
The former Arsenal man was ultimately given the green light to return to the session, but with heavy strapping on his ankle.
Just 24 hours out from his side’s La Liga meeting with Girona, Ceballos’ status was, in turn, thrown somewhat up in the air.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, it therefore came as little surprise when the subject of his in-form midfield star’s fitness was put to Carlo Ancelotti.
And, in his response, Real Madrid’s headmaster went on to assure:
“He’s fine. I’ll evaluate who needs to rest. The squad is growing physically. Tomorrow, Alaba could be an option to play. These are things I have to evaluate today.”
