MIAMI – The Cayman Islands earned a needed victory in League C as the 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League continued on Saturday.

The battle for the top spot in Group C will be decided on the final matchday as the Cayman Islands maintain its hopes of finishing first with its victory. The Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands also earned important victories in their hopes to attain the final Play-In spot.

Cayman Islands vs. British Virgin Islands

The Cayman Islands won 1-nil against the British Virgin Islands in Group C at Warner Park in Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Trey Ebanks struck a header to connect on an early corner kick attempt in the 3’ but Simon Cross was there for the save.

Cross captured the ball in the 30’ to cut off another attacking attempt from the Cayman Islands.

Zachary Scott struck on target in the 52’ but was denied by Cross.

Dimetri Douglas broke the deadlock in the 69' with a header on a corner kick delivery from Zachary Scott.

The victory helped the Cayman Islands improve to a 2-0-1 record and pull within three points of the top spot. A meeting for first place awaits when the nation meets Saint Kitts and Nevis on Tuesday.

The British Virgin Islands concluded its group stage participation, finishing in third place with a 0-0-4 record.

The Bahamas vs. U.S. Virgin Islands

The Bahamas won 3-1 against the U.S. Virgin Islands in Group A at the Wildey Astro Turf Stadium in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Brandon Adderley struck the opening goal in the 13' with a header inside the penalty area.

Adderley doubled his tally, and the Bahamas lead, in the 23' with a strike from the right side of the box.

Omari Bain added a third in the 30', dribbling his way into the penalty area and striking the ball into the right netting.

Matthew Roth had a look on target from outside the box in the 57’ but the ball was punched away by Michael Butler.

Hasani Edgar cut the deficit for the U.S.V.I. in the 69' with a strike in the box to convert on a corner kick attempt.

The U.S. Virgin Islands concluded its group stage campaign and finished as the third-place team in Group A with a 0-1-3 record.

Turks and Caicos Islands vs. Anguilla

Turks and Caicos Islands won 2-1 against Anguilla in Group B at FFB Stadium in Belmopan, Belize.

Emmanuel Martin struck at the left post in the 3' to connect with a pass from the right side of the field from Billy Forbes.

Lamar Carpenter equalized in the 59' with a rocket from outside the box.

Ledson Jerome scored the match-winner in the 90'+5 with a conversion from a penalty kick opportunity.

The victory marks the first for Turks and Caicos Islands in the current campaign.

Anguilla concluded its group stage participation with a 1-0-3 record. Also, with three points in hand, Anguilla occupies second place in Group B on goal difference.
