Chelsea are now reportedly open to offers for a player they paid a pretty hefty fee to sign in the last transfer window just six months prior.
This isn’t the first time we are seeing reports like this, players who have only recently joined Chelsea now looking for a move away from the club already. Renato Veiga looks like another player in this ilk who is set to leave this month, albeit only on a loan deal.
Another one now being touted to leave already is attacking midfielder Joao Felix. He has had a bit of a torrid time at Chelsea since arriving on a permanent deal from Atletico Madrid in the summer transfer window, being largely ignored in the Premier League by Enzo Maresca. And now, Chelsea are reportedly open to offers to sell him.
Felix arrived as part of a non-official swap deal because The Blues needed to sell Conor Gallagher for PSR reasons and Atletico wanted him. You are seeing a lot of these unofficial swap deals between clubs as they all look to stay in line with financial rules.
I can’t see it. Chelsea paid £46.3m for him just six month ago according to Sky Sports. So they’d have to sell him for a chunk more of that to be able to make any profit at all on him. Which club is paying around £60m for Felix who has not even been an important player for his club this season?
Anyhow, it is Ben Jacobs reporting on GIVEMESPORT this week that Chelsea are open to offers for Felix this month.
Whether those offers come or not though, is another story altogether.
