Chelsea will prioritise a move for Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo during the summer transfer window.
Semenyo is a transfer target for several Premier League clubs after impressing in Andoni Iraola’s high-flying side. The Ghana international has seven goals and four assists in the Premier League for the Cherries, who are targeting a place in Europe next season.
Semenyo also ranks in the Premier League’s top 10 players for shots, shot-creating actions, progressive carries and successful take-ons in 2024/25. Arsenal, Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur have all been linked with the 25-year-old, who signed for Bournemouth from Bristol City in 2023.
Chelsea are pushing to sign the winger. Journalist Simon Phillips is reporting that Semenyo is top of the club’s summer wish list. The West Londoners will prioritise a deal for Semenyo, over interest in Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho and Borussia Dortmund talent Jamie Gittens.
Chelsea want to sign a new forward amid doubts over the futures of Christopher Nkunku and Mykhailo Mudryk. The latter is currently sidelined after an adverse finding was found in a drugs test.
Bournemouth are set to value Semenyo, who was born in Chelsea, at over £40m. He is one of several members of the club’s squad attracting transfer interest. Top clubs are also monitoring the progress of left-back Milos Kerkez and central defender Dean Huijsen.
