Paris Saint-Germain showed interest in Dean Huijsen last summer as they looked to bolster their defense. Nonetheless, the Spanish center-back ended up signing with AFC Bournemouth. If PSG come back for him, they won’t be alone.
Despite signing Willian Pacho, the French champions will probably target another center-back this summer. With Milan Skriniar likely to leave permanently, they could look to bring in another young option.
According to a recent report from CaughtOffside, several top clubs — including Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona and PSG — have been keeping close tabs on the 20-year-old.
Huijsen has made an immediate impression in the Premier League and is already considered one of the most promising young defenders in Europe. If PSG make another move, they’ll have serious competition — and a steep price tag to contend with.
TEAMtalk previously reported that Liverpool are among the most serious suitors, viewing Huijsen as a potential long-term successor to Virgil van Dijk.

On Wednesday, TEAMtalk provided an update on the Huijsen transfer race, noting that for now it appears to be a two-team chase between Chelsea and Liverpool. Moreover, the outlet reports, citing sources, that the Blues have offered Huijsen a more tempting financial package.
Furthermore, the report mentions that there remains confidence at Stamford Bridge that Huijsen will opt for Enzo Maresca’s side. Liverpool may still be in the race, but the defender has an interest in Chelsea’s project, per TEAMtalk.
Meanwhile, GIVE ME SPORT reported Tuesday that Bournemouth expect Huijsen’s £50 million release clause to be triggered this summer — and if he stays in the Premier League, Liverpool are seen as the frontrunners.
It will be interesting to see which outlet is accurate with their information and where the talented defender will land.
