Crystal Palace will be looking to maintain their impressive form when they face Millwall in the FA Cup fifth-round clash on Saturday at Selhurst Park.
The Eagles started the season poorly, and at one point, Oliver Glasner’s future came under doubt, although Palace were always eager to give him time to turn it around.
Palace went through a phase where the squad went down to bare bones. As the season progressed, the Eagles have done remarkably well under Glasner, and they are aiming to finish in the top half of the table.
They are heading into this game on the back of a 4-1 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League and should take the cup competition more seriously.
Chris Sutton feels that a strong run in the FA Cup will be seen as a “successful campaign” for them.
However, it won’t be an easy game for them, as Millwall are doing well under former Norwich boss Alex Neil. Sutton still thinks that Palace will secure a 2-1 win in the normal time.
“Oliver Glasner’s side have improved as the season has gone on and they are comfortably in mid-table of the Premier League without any danger of going down. A cup run would really cap this as a successful campaign for him.”
Glasner could make a few changes to the side from the previous game to keep the players fresh.
Eddie Nketiah, who scored against Villa after coming from the bench, could start upfront, along with Daichi Kamada.
Adam Wharton, who was so impressive in his first start since undergoing surgery in October against Villa, could be used from the bench.
