Theo Hernandez will miss the next two games against Udinese and Bologna due to suspension, and it has once again reignited doubts among the AC Milan management about the deputy left-back role.

As Calciomercato.com report, at the moment head coach Paulo Fonseca is picking between Filippo Terracciano and Alex Jimenez to replace the Frenchman for the next two league games, with both having had very little playing time of late so it is not an ideal situation.

As a result, Geoffrey Moncada is looking towards the January window and the chance to sign a new player for the left side of the defence, with a particular emphasis on signing an Italian player for squad list reasons.

Fabiano Parisi of Fiorentina and Giuseppe Pezzella of Empoli are top of the list. The former has been linked previously and is not getting much playing time due to the presence of Gosens and Biraghi, while the latter is the protagonist of a great start to the season with the Azzurri.

Due to his characteristics, Pezzella would be more suited to Milan’s philosophy for the role given he is physically well-built and with a natural offensive vocation. The excellent relationship with Empoli – seen by the fact Devis Vasquez and Lorenzo Colombo are there – could help the negotiations.

As for Lecce’s Patrick Dorgu, the total approval of the Rossoneri is confirmed. Moncada likes the Dane a lot but the issue regarding the squad lists and the high costs of the transfer fee make this path practically impossible for the January market.
