CorSport: Conceicao exit possible with Champions League or not – the reasoning

Since Sergio Conceicao joined AC Milan, things have been rather up and down, but this is a trend of the season, not him particularly.
The past two, and maybe even three, seasons have featured too many ups and downs for a club like Milan. Inconsistency has been rife and as a result, the club are now in a very difficult situation. Not only have they had three head coaches in the past 12 months, but results have not improved under any.
Paulo Fonseca’s spell, in many ways, has followed a similar path that Conceicao’s is already. A few big results dotted about, clouded by a general lack of Milanisiti spirit, and this leaves everything in the air.
Corriere dello Sport (via Milan News) even writes that frustration is surrounding the situation, and it is not just from Conceicao, but towards him too. The loss to Feyenoord in the Champions League could be the end of European dreams next season.
Even if it is not though, and the Rossoneri miraculously claim a spot in Europe’s prestige competition, the Portuguese could leave. Conceicao was left lonely after the game against Feyenoord, and talk about mistrust is growing around Milanello.
At present, the former Porto man is walking on a thread, and any movement that is too significant could be the snapping factor… there are no guarantees of safety.
