Sensational claims in recent days have suggested that Cole Palmer could be subject to Manchester City transfer interest over a return to the Etihad Stadium.

The Premier League champions sanctioned a sale of their Academy graduate towards the end of the 2023 summer transfer window, with Palmer in search of more consistent first-team opportunities having been restricted somewhat at Manchester City.

Despite breaking into the first-team picture and scoring vital goals in the FA Cup, UEFA Super Cup, and FA Community Shield in particular, Palmer still found himself excluded from starting line-ups in high-profile matches.

The hunt for first-team chances led to Chelsea emerging in the race to sign the player, and Stamford Bridge officials made no hesitation in sanctioning a financial package worth up to £42.5 million for the winger.

Fast forward to today and Palmer is one of the most prolific forward players in the Premier League, and his form at club level as well as the individual accolades claimed have led to questions as to how long he could realistically last with the West London side.

According to the information of Football Insider, Cole Palmer is ‘not interested’ in a sensational return to Manchester City in the future, amid recent speculation surrounding his future at Chelsea.

The report claims that sources close to Cole Palmer’s camp have insisted that the England international remains keen to repay Stamford Bridge officials’ faith in his talents and as such he is not considering leaving.

It is further explained that while Manchester City regret letting their Academy graduate midfielder leave in 2023, there is a belief that now paying big money for a return would not be a good look for the club.

Since signing for Chelsea and moving away from his home city of Manchester, Cole Palmer has gone from strength to strength and arguably become the poster of the football club both under Mauricio Pochettino and current boss, Enzo Maresca.

Across his 55 appearances to date, Palmer has gone on to establish himself as a mainstay England international and make his debut for the nation, whilst providing 31 goals and 20 assists in a Chelsea shirt.

For Manchester City, they continue to deliver some of the best young talents in the game through their academy, and a number of names continue to excel having sought out moves away from the club, including Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa and Liam Delap at Ipswich Town.
