According to Wenham, the rise of young midfielder Lucas Bergvall could prompt Tottenham to sell Bentancur in the upcoming transfer window.

"Bergvall has exceeded all my expectations," Wenham said, praising the teenager for his contributions in the absence of more established players.

"I thought a few months ago that he might leave on loan in January. However, that is so far away from my thoughts now that it is ridiculous."

The emergence of Bergvall has given Tottenham more depth in midfield, and Wenham noted that the experience the young player has gained in big matches will make him a more valuable asset moving forward.
