Roma legend Daniele De Rossi was recently inducted into the Italian Hall of Fame.
The former Giallorossi manager, dismissed by the club, in September, was asked about which midfielders he identifies himself with the most these days.
In an interview with VivoAzzurroTV, De Rossi remarked, “I said a few words to Tonali earlier. When I was about to retire, I took the liberty of advising our sporting director to sign this kid, who was still playing in Serie B, because I thought it would be nice to play with him for a year, accompany him in his first season, and then leave him in my place.”
“Pisilli, who we have seen in recent months, is making a very important splash. He’s incredible.”
“Not to forget the good old Barella and Pellegrini, players who have been pulling the cart for many years and will continue to do so for a long time, because they have incredible quality.”
“When you mention names you always forget someone, but Italy has always had great midfielders and I think that a diversity between them is being reformed that could be very important on the pitch.”
