Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has encouraged supporters not to ‘worry’ about the future of head coach Antonio Conte, who has been linked with a return to Juventus after his first, title-winning year with the Partenopei.

Conte has been linked with a move to take over from Igor Tudor as head coach of his former club Juventus, whom he coached to three consecutive Serie A titles between 2011 and 2014.

That is despite winning the Serie A title in his first season with Napoli, which was confirmed with a 2-0 win over Cagliari in their final game of the season at the Stadio Maradona on Friday night.

Conte, who has also been named as the Serie A coach of the year for 2024-25, claimed that the ‘pressure on us was insane’ after full-time on Friday night, in what he described as ‘the most unexpected, difficult and stimulating challenge’ of his career.

De Laurentiis, speaking on Friday night, said “If he wants to put himself at the disposal of the club, then he is welcome. I would be pleased if he made his mark in the Champions League,” when asked about Conte’s future after full-time.

De Laurentiis has since spoken again on Radio CRC on Saturday morning, urging fans: ‘Don’t worry’ in relation to Conte’s future.

“Don’t worry, Conte is a great coach and an extraordinary person, who keeps amazing me more and more. We don’t force anything, he has a three-year contract,” the Napoli President said, reported via Corriere dello Sport.

De Laurentiis went on to add that Napoli have two priorities now that the Serie A title is wrapped up, and did not include the selection of a new head coach in that list.

“We have two important issues now, namely the sports centre and the stadium: Two things that will take effort, money and investment.”
