Paulo Dybala is attacking his rehab following a harsh diagnosis and the surgery and discussed his future in an interview with Argentinian journalists Gaston and Esteban Edul (via Sky).

“I’m a little more serene now. It was tough at first when they told me how long I would be sidelined for because I would miss some national team matches and important Roma games. I was in a good moment, one of the best this campaign, and I was feeling well physically. It was a kick in the teeth, but I have come to grips with it, and I’m working to return as quickly as possible. Knowing that I would be called up was wonderful. Going there helps me, and it kills me to have to give it up. I prepare all year long to play the few matches we have with the Seleccion.”

Dybala doesn’t rule out ending his career in his home country.

“I leave the door open, but I’m not sure. Leandro Paredes is pressuring me to join Boca Juniors. The truth is that I don’t know yet what the future holds for me. It’ll depend on the offers and my family.”

Dybala heaped praise on Matias Soulé, who has stepped up once he went down.

“He’s doing well. It’s not easy to adapt to a club like this, but he has a lot of quality. The Derby was incredible. During the warm-ups, I told him to open his foot a little when shooting. The credit for the goal goes to him, but I gave him this advice. He could have had another one.”
