Archie Gray has struggled for game time since moving to Tottenham

Several Premier League and Championship clubs are considering moves for Tottenham midfielder Archie Gray in the January transfer window.

That's according to a report from Give Me Sport, who say that Spurs are expecting loan offers for the 18-year-old to be made at the turn of the year.

Having come through the youth ranks at Leeds United, the midfielder enjoyed an excellent debut campaign at senior level with the Whites last season.

Gray was a regular figure for Daniel Farke's side, as they reached the Championship play-off final, only to miss out on promotion to the Premier League after defeat to Southampton at Wembley.

Tottenham then moved to sign the teenager in the summer transfer window, reportedly paying £40million for his services.

Now however, it seems as though other clubs may be tempted to see if the midfielder could be on the move again come January.

Premier League, Championship clubs eyeing Archie Gray

Having made his move to Tottenham in the summer, game time has been hard to come by for Gray in Ange Postecoglu's side so far.

Since the start of the season, the midfielder has made eight appearances in all competitions for Spurs.

He is however, yet to start a Premier League game, with all of his appearances in the top-flight of English football so far coming from the bench.

Clubs elsewhere are seemingly being attracted to his lack of game time, with this latest update claiming sides in the Premier League and Championship are considering January loan bids for Gray.

Indeed, Tottenham are said to be braced for offers to sign the former Leeds man on a temporary basis.

It apparently also remains to be seen how much game time the midfielder would get in the second-half of the season, if he was to remain with Postecoglu's side.

Even so, the North London club are thought to still rate Gray highly, despite that lack of game time he has had so far.

Having signed a six-year contract in the summer, the midfielder's future at Tottenham is secure until the end of the 2029/30 season, putting them in a strong position to respond to January interest.

As things stand, Spurs currently sit eighth in the Premier League table, having taken 13 points from nine league games so far this season.

No surprise to see interest in former Leeds United player

It does seem to make sense for clubs to show an interest in a potential move for Gray ahead of the January transfer window.

Having broken through at Leeds last season, he is going to want to continue his development by playing as much as possible, and Tottenham may feel the same.

But given he is not currently getting those chances in Ange Postecoglu's side, there is a possibility a loan move would be the best way for him to do that.

With that in mind, it makes sense for clubs to look into such a deal, given he showed last season how good he can be in a side competing for promotion from the Championship with Leeds.

That could make him a big asset for any number of clubs eyeing a move for Gray come January, provided Spurs are willing to sanction such a deal.
