A depleted Everton team travel to south London to take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League this weekend.
David Moyes’ men arrive at Selhurst Park buoyed by their 2-2 draw with Liverpool in the last ever Merseyside Derby at Goodison Park. James Tarkowski volleyed the ball into the back of the net in the 98th minute, sparking scenes of jubilation and, subsequently, agitation as players scuffled after the full-time whistle.
The Toffees are unbeaten in their last four Premier League outings, while Palace have lost just one of their last seven matches in the competition. The hosts have won just one of their last 20 meetings with Saturday’s opponents, but Everton are winless in their last seven trips to London.
Everton could be without up to nine first-team players against the Eagles after Abdoulaye Doucoure was sent off for brawling with Curtis Jones on Wednesday, while Iliman Ndiaye went off with a medial ligament injury in the first half.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Dwight McNeil, Orel Mangala, Seamus Coleman, Armando Broja, Youssef Chermiti and Nathan Patterson are all sidelined by injury and unlikely to make the matchday squad.
Beto will retain his place up front after scoring three goals in his last two appearances, while Jack Harrison is set to make his first Premier League start in a month. Carlos Alcaraz will replace the suspended Doucoure for his first start since joining the club on loan from Flamengo earlier this month.
Everton XI: Pickford; O’Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko; Gueye, Garner; Lindstrom, Alcaraz, Harrison; Beto.
Everton and Crystal Palace will kick off at 17:30 UK time on Saturday, 15 February, at Selhurst Park, London.
The match will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Main Event, Sky Sports Premier League and Sky Sports Ultra HDR. Highlights will available shortly after the final whistle on the Sky Sports YouTube channel and later on BBC Match of the Day.
