Billy Gilmour will start in midfield for Napoli in this evening’s top-of-the-table Serie A showdown with Inter Milan.

This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Napoli coach Antonio Conte has a major injury to work around in today’s top-of-the-table Serie A clash with Inter Milan.

Midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa will miss the match.

The 29-year-old former Fulham and Villarreal has been an absolutely pivotal player for Conte’s team this season.

Meanwhile, Conte would have a couple of options in midfield in the absence of Anguissa.

One possibility would be for January signing Phillip Billing to start in midfield for Napoli.

The Danish international did start for the Partenopei against Como last weekend.

However, reports the Corriere, it will instead be former Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion, and Norwich City midfielder Billy Gilmour who completes the midfield trio for Napoli absent Anguissa.

The 23-year-old will start alongside Stanislav Lobotka and Scott McTominay in the centre of the pitch.

Otherwise, it will be an unchanged lineup from last Sunday’s loss to Como.

Alex Meret will start in goal. And then there will be a back three of Alessandro Buongiorno, Amir Rrahmani, and GIovanni Di Lorenzo.

On the flanks, Leonardo Spinazzola and Matteo Politano.

And then it will be Romelu Lukaku and Giacomo Raspadori leading the line in a 3-5-2 formation.

Meanwhile, reports the Corriere, there are two injuries for Napoli in addition to Anguissa. These would be to Pasquale Mazzocchi and David Neres.
