Chelsea play against West Ham on Monday night, during the final hours of the transfer window.
That means today was the last chance the media will get to speak to manager Enzo Maresca before the deadline, and they didn’t waste their chance to try and draw some good lines from him.
Asked whether Chelsea fans could expect any sale or any signings, Maresca certainly didn’t rule it out – in fact he said both were likely:
“You can expect players arriving and players leaving – it is like this in this moment. I don’t know about the players leaving and arriving.
So while he fended off any specifics, he did admit that there were likely to be moves. That much was clear already – there are still so many players who need to find a home away from Stamford Bridge, and we’re sure the club would love to bring some new faces in when some space has been cleared, too.

Among those looking to depart, Carney Chukwuemeka and Ben Chilwell are top of the list. They’re not playing at all, and are in a pretty sorry situation.
Then there are the likes of Axel Disasi and Cesare Casadei, who are certainly for sale at the right price, and have had serious interest. The next tier down has people like Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall – also available, but without any concrete offers yet.
As for players coming in, it seems like a left winger is top of the agenda for the club, although fans would also like a new striker and some depth in midfield.
